Brief Description
A Welder will weld metal components and equipment according to blueprint specifications and fitter
layout using oxy/acetylene and plasma cutting processes. Will prep parts, drill holes, deburr parts, and
use the plate shear and Ironworker. This role will also adjust amperage, current and gas flow according
to the material being welded.
Key Responsibilities
• Novice level concept of the GMAW, SMAW, and FCAW welding processes
• Weld in position all metal components and equipment
• Set up components and equipment to be welded
• Maintain a high level of weld quality by following QC standards/policies
• Adjust amperage, current, and gas flow according to the material being welded
• Demonstrate safe working practices and standards

Qualifications (Required)
• High school diploma/GED
• 0-3 years of experience in MIG, fluxcore, stitch pattern, tack, CS, and in-position welding
• Good mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, and basic geometry); willingness
to learn and improve math skills
• Good knowledge and accurate use of common and typical tools (e.g., tape measure)
• Good communication and organizational skills with a willingness to work with others; ability to interact
professionally and positively with all levels of personnel in the company
• Knowledge of steel manufacturing
• Knowledge of PPE requirements
• Demonstrate qualities that support a safe working environment
• Majority of work is performed in a warehouse and manufacturing shop environment; exposed to
moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, forklifts, and electricity in the manufacturing
areas, noise level is usually moderate
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; must have ability to use close vision, peripheral
vision, and adjust focus; required to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, crouch, walk, use
hands and arms to reach for objects, carry, climb, balance, speak, hear, and work at heights using
ladders or manlifts
Other Valued Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Preferred)
• Certification of completion of welding classes or trade schooling preferred
